Voting Doesn’t Stop After Today’s Election

November 09, 2016

Today is an historic day for America. We are voting for the next President of the United States. The privilege of voting as a U.S. Citizen is something I take very seriously as do my friends, family, colleagues, and clients. Whether Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton prevail in today’s election, this country will continue to thrive because of the democratic system our forefathers established. Together, the Congress (made of the Senate and House of Representatives), the Supreme Court, and the President represent the balance of legislation, law and authority that make it all work. But the key has always been the voice of the American voter.

This is the inspiration behind today’s show. Through the years that the Internet has matured and options to express continue to present themselves, we have the right to ‘vote’ on just about everything that touches our lives. We can review a book on Amazon; we can give a five-star rating to our favorite restaurant; we can recommend the painter who transformed our house; and we can evaluate the service we received from our insurance agent.

On the flip side, we can also let the world know when a service or product falls below our standard of expectation. Have you seen some of the tweets from customers about United Airlines, Comcast, or Southwest Airlines? If you have you know the power of social voice.

But with that power comes responsibility. I would like to share some idea on how you can support local businesses through offering your online support. And also explore the downside of saying nothing or leaving negative comments
