181: A Victim Mentality Will Kill Your Marriage with Nate and Dina Rifkin
It's his fault, my mom's fault, the president's fault.
Or is it your responsibility?
I'll take that answer. After all, if it's up to me, I can do something about it and actually change it.
It's way easier to be a victim as you don't have to do anything but sit and complain. Taking responsibility means you actually have to take action. Dina started by getting her finances in order, learning how to cook and owning her feelings. Nate become sober, went deep on mediation and was able to attract the love of his life.
Nate Rifkin used to be suicidal and drank alcohol every morning to get through the day. He dropped out of college, went broke, bankrupt, and even worked on the street corner waving around a sign to afford rent and food. But he’s managed to turn his life around, find love, and now has an incredible life. He's the author of the new book The Standing Meditation. Both he and his wife Dina are training to become Daoist priests and earn their Doctorates in Chinese Energetic Medicine. Dina used to be shy, constantly sick, and spent much of her earlier years in and out of a wheelchair. She decided to turn her life around by leaving her birth religion, diving deep into natural health, inner work, and energetic cultivation, and learning to dance. She's found love and has developed her own program for women who want to seek love from a courageously honest and loving place. Today, Dina uses her own journey to coach people through healing, awakening, and authentic dating.
