101: Setting Boundaries With Love with Liza Gold

March 29, 2021

Do you have a hard time asking for what you need? You know what I'm gonna say - Before communication comes self-awareness. So, do you know what you need?
But why am I asking that if the topic of this episode is setting boundaries?!?
You see, setting boundaries is not about pushing people away. Boundaries are about maintaining your sense of self, as our guest Liza Gold, LCSW explains. When you understand this, then taking time for yourself isn't a bad thing, rather it will improve your relationship as then you'll be a better spouse afterward. Asking your partner to do something for you, is not about being controlling or mean, it's about making sure you're in the best state possible to be the best partner out there. Just remember, if you're asking your partner to do something, you've got to make sure you're doing it in a way where your partner doesn't feel like he's a bad person.
And on the topic of boundaries, we had to speak about setting boundaries with your children. How do you make sure you're not telling them to do this just 'cuz you want it rather then it's good for them?...
