Did you know you can use Journaling and art to improve your relationship? Yup! And if you do it with your nondominant the results are insane! In this episode I sit down with my supervisor, Lisa Brown on how you can implement the Creative Journal Expressivr Arts method into your life and change it drastically! Lisa is a self-taught artist teaching and learning while exhibiting and selling. During her 35 years of teaching Lisa developed a series of “art-as-therapy” workshops for those suffering from illness and adversity. Lisa have dedicated her life in the belief that art is therapeutic and can help express words hard to speak while allowing us to escape for a few hours. Lisa have a BA in Art, a MA in Creative Arts and I am the Regional Coordinator for Creative Journal Expressive Arts with Dr. Lucia Capacchione, A.T.R. (The Power of Your Other Hand) Since being trained Lisa have facilitated programs for support groups: (cancer, brain-injured and bereavement) at the local hospitals, wellness centers, for couples, for Art Educators of New Jersey, high schools, and (CEU’s) for colleges as well as facilitating a variety of workshops in my studio and full weekend retreats since 2007. Lisa wrote Hold the Moments: Creative Experiences in Parenting for parents and grandparents who want to make the most of the time spent with the children they love. It offers hundreds of projects to do with children and recommends you keep a journal of the stories and adventures you have together so that you can reminisce as the children get older.
