So we’re starting a new series for Advent that will take us through Christmas Eve on the names of the Messiah in Isaiah 9:6-7. The first one we will look at is “Wonderful Counselor.” This doesn’t mean that Jesus is a great therapist (though he is), but literally the Hebrew indicates that he has a great and wonderful plan. We see this plan referred to often in the Scriptures, as one that began before the world began, that is not thwarted by our sin and rebellion, that encompasses our redemption, and will find its fulfillment in Christ’s eternal kingdom.
