This week we are talking about the idol of romance, sex, and marriage, out of 1 Cor 7:1-40. Our culture tells us that the highest love, and perhaps our highest aspiration in life, is romantic love. Outside the church this can take any number of forms, inside the church it can take the form of an idolization of marriage. By contrast, the Scriptures teach us that we are indeed created to experience deep, significant love with others, but that may or may not include marriage.
