This week our parable is “The Two Sons,” out of Matt 21:28-32. In this story, the first son says the right things but fails to do his father’s will, while the second son flatly tells his father no, but then ends up doing what his father asked after all. Jesus tells this story in praise of simple obedience. He is looking for followers who will not just profess the right things, but do what he asks.
