This week we are in Acts 11:1-18, Peter’s recap of the Cornelius story.  Why, we ask, does this story appear twice? Granted it is a very important episode in the life of the church, but it is more than that: Acts 11 details how the church discerned whether or not Peter’s powerful experience was truly from God, or was spiritually counterfeit. Similarly, we live in an age of religious hucksters and a plethora of spiritual experiences – how can we to determine what is really of God?
