This week we are in Acts 6:1-7, where the church encounters its first real challenge to its unity. God’s vision is to bring together all different sorts of people into one big family, which is at the same time beautiful and the cause of a few headaches! Here the church wrestles through a conflict born out of cultural differences and racial tensions.  Their response is instructive, as they trust that God’s Spirit will work through the body, discern well who is best to mend the situation, and exercise wisdom and sensitivity in resolving the problem.
