This week is New Years Eve also known as "Youth Pastor Preaches" Sunday. I'll join many other youth pastors this Sunday as we preach the Word to our people. This Sunday, I'll be bringing the Word with a challenge, "Hiding God's Word In Our Heart." We all know that memorizing Bible verses is a good thing. But we don't always do it, we're not always motivated to actively engage this spiritual discipline. This might be for a couple of reasons, but ultimately it boils down to the fact that we don't know the benefits that we gain by memorizing Scripture. Focusing on Psalm 119:1-20, I'll highlight the benefits of memorizing Scripture & help everyone see that it is something that they CAN do, even if their lives are busy. I'll also challenge everyone to make memorizing Scripture one of their New Year's resolutions (& even invite them to join me in memorizing Philippians 4:4-9 over the next couple of months).
