This week we are in Revelation 2:8-11, and the quality Jesus is looking for in the church is faithfulness. As the New Testament churches strived to live in the way of Jesus, they frequently found themselves facing severe pressure from the world around them to live just as the world did. For us today, while the persecution may not be as intense, the pressure is ever-present. The question for them, and for us, is will we be faithful to Jesus’ teachings even when it is costly?
