* Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy published an op-ed Wednesday in the WSJ revealing their plans for the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

* The initiative focuses on three core objectives: cutting regulations, reducing administrative overhead, and achieving cost savings.

A drastic reduction in federal regulations provides sound industrial logic for mass head-count reductions across the federal bureaucracy. DOGE intends to work with embedded appointees in agencies to identify the minimum number of employees required at an agency for it to perform its constitutionally permissible and statutorily mandated functions.

* Relocating federal agencies out of Washington, DC and encouraging voluntary resignations from remote workers unwilling to return to the office full-time.

* The red seal bills are not Federal Reserve Notes; they are United States Notes, also known as Legal Tender Notes. United States Notes were issued by the United States Treasury and are distinct from Federal Reserve Notes, which have a green seal and are issued by the Federal Reserve System.

United States Notes were the earliest type of paper currency issued by the U.S. Government, dating back to the Civil War era, and were intended to finance government spending without increasing the national debt. They are characterized by their red treasury seal and serial numbers. The issuance of United States Notes was discontinued in 1971, and they were gradually removed from circulation, although they still hold legal tender status.
