TKC 336 John Ashbery

January 10, 2015

Author of 17 poetry collections recently formatted for eBook readers

Interview starts at 12:49 and ends at 37:24.

The Internet seems to have changed things for the better. You can’t stop people from looking things up these days. They’re usually doing it in front of you while they’re talking to you. So, even though it’s cheating, it’s resulted in a somewhat different position for the would-be communicator, i.e. the poet.

Upcoming Guests

Next week’s show will originate from New York City, where I will bring you interviews and observations from a blockbuster Digital Book World conference.

My guest for TKC 338 on Friday, January 23, 2015, will be Andy Weir, author of The Martian, described by Guy Kawasaki in a recent Facebook post as “the most enjoyable book I have ever read.”

Music for my podcast is from an original Thelonius Monk composition named “Well, You Needn’t.” This version is “Ra-Monk” by Eval Manigat on the “Variations in Time: A Jazz Persepctive” CD by Public Transit Recording” CD.
