“Predatory pricing†sounds good to people who don’t really understand that law very well. But I don’t see anything in Amazon’s behavior that would support that. I think a predatory-pricing antitrust action would would get kicked out of court, because where are the big price increases that Amazon is asking for? The antitrust laws are not designed to protect particular companies or particular groups of companies in a business. They’re designed to protect competition and protect consumers. I think it’s inarguable that consumers love Amazon and that Amazon treats consumers, its customers, extremely well.
