Just A Dream Away
Walk This Way - Walking to The Back at Walt Disney World
No, this doesn't really have anything to do with Aerosmith or Rock 'n Roller Coaster. But the advice here is sound. Many areas of Walt Disney World are created to lead you down a certain path or draw you to a certain place. Consider the way that Main Street U.S.A. is designed to draw you to the carrot at the end of the street - Cinderella's Castle. Even so, there are areas in Walt Disney World that many guests miss because they won't follow the paths, even of the off-the-beaten variety. Here are a few examples that we hope you haven't missed...The Path from Tomorrowland to Storybook CircusGo past Space Mountain and you will find a special pathway from Tomorrowland that will take you right out to the Barnstormer and the Storybook Circus Train Station. This is a completely peaceful pathway that few people ever use! You will find a great view of the iconic Space Mountain, and be able to escape from the rush of the crowds of tourists for a little while. Be careful though as some use this area to smoke. The Relaxation and Recharging Area of Storybook CircusIf you go to the left when walking towards the Restrooms in Storybook Circus, you will find Pete's Silly Sideshow. Inside the tent, you can meet Daisy, Minnie, Donald and Goofy in circus costumes. But, in a separate area you will find a small tent where you can charge your electronic devices. There are mismatched pieces of furniture all around, themed so you can believe a traveling circus has collected random articles and set them out between shows for relaxation. There are also some fun props to interact with while there, like a crystal ball and fun house mirrors. We really enjoyed exploring this space that other guests simply hadn't found. The Regent's Park Section of United KingdomI can never figure out why this section is not more populated. Follow the path to the back of the United Kingdom to find a very miniaturized version of Regent's Park in London. Many come this way just to meet Pooh and the crew in the very back corner, but this is an often nice spot to be away from it all when the band is not performing. The tiny maze is a good way for kids to run about Epcot and let off some steam. I just enjoy it because it looks like London. Honestly, that's worth the walk for me.The Back of Morocco People don't seem to realize that they are meant to explore the Morocco pavilion. Poor Restaurant Marakkesh has to set up a table at the front of the pavilion because guests have no idea this dining option is in the back. There is a wonderfully quiet courtyard at the back that feels wholly removed from the rest of the Park. I love the mosaic fountain on a back wall, the palm trees, lanterns and other facades. It really does feel like you've turned a corner and traveled the world.Moroccan Style Exhibit and Fez HouseOff to the left of the entrance of the Morocco pavilion, you can find a one room exhibit on the clothing and style of Morocco. But this room and the connected open air Fez House is almost always empty. People are scared to explore and get in trouble, or something like that. This is our favorite place to escape. The mosaics on the walls and ceiling are absolutely beautiful. Treat yourself to this wonderful respite from the heat and crowds. There's air-conditioning!Inside the Stave Church in NorwayDuring the day, this exhibit gets some foot traffic, but not as much as you expect. Go inside this structure and you'll find a tiny exhibit on how actual Norwegian culture inspired Frozen (you know, something the rest of the pavilion probably won't do in the coming year). When this space is empty, it does kind of feel like you've snuck into a Cast Members only area. The Exhibit in Japan People are always eager to visit the sprawling store in Japan, but they often don't find the exhibit near the exit. Very rarely do you find more than a handful of guests in these few rooms. The previous Anime, etc. exhibit was a little weird and reasonably overlooked (but that's just
