In this episode, Jeremy interviews Brian Jones. Brian Jones is the founding Senior Pastor at Christ’s Church of the Valley in suburban Philadelphia. A graduate of Princeton (M.Div.), Jones and his wife, Lisa, have been married for 27 years and have three daughters. Since starting Christ’s Church of the Valley, the congregation has grown to thousands of weekly attendees in multiple locations. He also serves as a blogger and author, having written three books, and a weekly article at SeniorPastorCentral.com. Jeremy and Brian discuss practical needs of senior pastors and problems they face.

* Give us a little background on your life and ministry. For those not familiar with Brian Jones, where are you from, what is your family like, and what do you do?
* You and I both have something in common: We’re both very regimented with our schedules and time management, especially pertaining to sermon preparation. A lot of our listeners struggle with getting their sermons written in a timely manner, where it doesn’t hang over their heads. You recently wrote an article, How to Finish Your Sermons by Noon Monday. I absolutely loved it. How do you do that?
* Most pastors struggle with evangelism because they’re stuck in a Christian bubble. We are around Christians all of the time. You’ve developed a thorough strategy called “Leadership Evangelism.” Very practically, how do you do that?
* Just from reading your website, and listening to you preach, I can tell you are a very disciplined person. Being a successful leader, especially as a senior pastor, requires discipline. What are some keys in your life to being a disciplined person?
