You get excited about the adventure and the steps required to launch your new business but you just face one problem: you have no idea of what your new business should be about. Well, in today's episode I'll give you some tools and action steps to help you sort through the thoughts and ideas that are running through your head to help you zero in on the right business for you.

Welcome to today's episode, #5. My name is Jeremy Epp and I am here to help you setup, launch and grow a profitable business. I used to joke when I was younger when asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, that I wanted to own my own business. However, I didn't know what that business would be, but when the idea presented to me I was confident that I would be able to run with it and make is successful! But the reality is that that business epiphany never came for me personally. I always had this desire to kind of break out on my own and be my own boss and have the entrepreneurial, creative drive.

Circumstances were always such that the timing was never right or I never had a strong idea to help me really go out and launch that career. For a period of time I thought it was real estate but in the end that real estate idea was just almost like becoming self employed and creating a job for myself. It wasn't truly a business in the sense where I could have a recurring revenue coming in the door and going out and expanding new opportunities that I was excited about.

I have learned through many different areas, through a lot of processing time, through a lot of soul searching, but a lot of experience and some trial and error of what I was passionate about and, over the course of that, I've developed some action steps that I wanted to share with you today that I think will help you if you are struggling with finding out what that idea is that you believe that you need to help you break out of your existing rut, create an exciting business that you're passionate about and that will enable you launch into becoming self employed so that you can change your circumstance and change your life.

So I want to begin. We've got nine action steps to help you process through the ideas, the conflicts that you have to help you in your journey and help you zero in on some ideas that will enable you to launch a new business and get excited about it. All right. So let's jump right into it.

So Action Step #1: What I want you to do first is I want you to write down three to five different job roles, projects, assignments that you've been involved with over the last several years. So these might be actually job titles or these might be major projects that you've been involved with one by one over some length of time. Write those down.

Next I want you to take each one of those and actually write down the positives, what you really loved and enjoyed about your responsibility and the actions that you were taking within that job role or that project assignment, and then, to follow it up, I want you to write the negatives, what you didn't like about that role and responsibility, some of the frustrations, what that may be. So write those down. Go one by one. Take the time. This is going to take a period of time to really dig deep in this.
