Coming Out About Bipolar Disorder Featuring Marcia Naomi Berger
Welcome to The Inspired Women Podcast. On this episode your host Megan Hall interviews Marcia.
Marcia Naomi Berger is a licensed clinical social worker in San Rafael, California. She is a therapist for individuals and couples in her private practice. She held senior-level positions in child welfare, alcoholism treatment, and psychiatry. She was a lecturer on the clinical faculty at the University of California School of Medicine and executive director of a family service agency. Because some people shamed and harassed her after her bipolar illness surfaced, she kept it a secret for a long time while advancing in her career. Now, Marcia Naomi Berger has come out of the (mental health) closet with the publishing of The Bipolar Therapist: A Journey from Madness to Love and Meaning. Her earlier published books are Marriage Meetings for Lasting Love: 30 Minutes a Week to the Relationship You’ve Always Wanted, and Marriage Minded: An A to Z Dating Guide for Lasting Love.
