David Grovdahl, EMT-P, is executive director of Leflore County (Okla.) EMS. He determined that there was no reason rural EMS systems couldn’t have similar improvements in cardiac arrest survival rates as seen in major metropolitan systems. He took his system and through carefully applied education and training, was able to show that remote areas could experience success as well.
