Athletes, Injuries and the Elephant in the Room
Are you a parent, coach or physician of a student athlete? Dr. Emily Campbell, physician with Holston Medical Group, shares about the importance of including mental health in every aspect of physical health practice. Her refreshing perspective on the effects of physical injury on the mental health of student and professional athletes is one that should be shared with every parent, coach and physician. She is Board Certified in Family and Lifestyle Medicine and fellowship trained in Sports Medicine. Dr. Campbell is also the lead sports medicine physician at King University and Virginia High Schools. She serves on the Holston Medical Group Board of Directors and has also served on the Board of Directors for Girls on the Run Northeast Tennessee. Dr. Campbell has received the Tri-Cities Business Journal 40 Under 40 award and her primary work is serving patients in both Primary Care, Non-Surgical Orthopedics, and Sports Medicine.
