Sixth Generation Camaro Nears The Chevrolet Finish Line

March 31, 2023

Chevrolet’s Sixth Generation Camaro is driving through its 9th model year.

And the Bow Tie brand is announcing the end of the line for this generation of Camaro.  To be clear.  It’s not the end of the Chevrolet Camaro.  Just its current generation.

Chevy reps are quick to affirm that the legend of the Camaro will continue.

Hundreds of thousands of 6th-gen Camaros have rolled off the assembly lines.  But with the model year 2024, the current Camaro comes to a close.

Scott Bell, VP of Global Chevy says “while we are not announcing an immediate successor today, rest assured, this is no the end of Camaro’s story.”

Sixth Generation Camaro Bids Farwell

Coming in both coupe and convertible.  The current Camaro moved forward with performance and tech.  While balancing styling reminiscent of the old while pushing the new.

The most recent Camaro SS introduced magnetic ride control.  And track-focused offerings were available on all levels of the lineup.

And producing the fastest time for any Camaro around GM’s Milford Proving Ground.  The track-ready street-legal ZL1 1LE delivers 650 horsepower.

Collector’s Edition Package Option

Celebrating and saying goodbye to Camaro’s 6th gen.  A Collectors Edition package is being offered on Camaro RS and SS.  Also a limited number of ZL1-equipped vehicles for North America.

Code name: Panther

Chevy says that the Collector’s Edition pays homage to Camaro’s first generation.  Dating all the way back to the 1960s.  And most notably the program’s initial code name: Panther.  (So there’s a fun fact!)

Chevrolet, find new roads!
