How They Lead

How They Lead

Episode 1: Self Management with Jye John Paul Turk

October 05, 2020

In the inaugural episode, we meet Jye John Paul Turk, Founder of SolvED, a nonprofit whose mission is to provide relevant educational services, development, and training to reconnect youth experience disconnect, especially those from marginalized communities.

Jye talks about stepping into the spotlight, not “talking small,” imposter syndrome, and the challenges of setting boundaries.

On this episode, Jye covers the Self-Management skill on YNPN Austin’s Competency Model and how he brings this skill to both his personal and professional lives. Learn how Jye practices self-management in his own life and how he started on the journey to develop this skill.

Every episode of How They Lead will feature a local Austin-area nonprofit executive discussing how they got to where they are today, surprising lessons they’ve learned along the way, and what skills they’re looking for in young nonprofit leaders. Each episode will align with skills from YNPN Austin’s Competency Model and how they have honed that skill through their work.
