Topic: Deb and I dive into what fitness can mean for people and horses. There is more to it than just cardio vascular fitness, so we don't always need to make our horses trot and canter in order to warm them up or help them stay fit. It really depends on the unique body that we are trying to help get fit. Fitness also ties into how we warm up and help our horse's warm up before a training session too. Again, what works for one does not work for all. All exercise can either deplete the body or strengthen it, encourage better coordination or create dysfunction. How we train is not really ever neutral, what we choose to do and how we do it with our horse always has a direct impact on our horse's health and well being.
