Topic: Creating space and setting up situations for making mistakes, exploring, being wrong more often than right and interrupting our preconceived ideas is so important for authentic learning. If we only practice for what a judge wants to see, always pushing to be perfect ourselves or make our horse work perfectly all the time, we miss out on all the little details that move us from being good with horses into being great with horses. Giving ourselves and our horses a safe space for making mistakes without fear or punishment is probably the most important thing we can do to improve our feel, timing and balance, moving into a higher level of working with and communicating with our horse.
