The three basic strategies that help facilitate learning and actually empower individuals with knowledge are pretty simple: 1. Overcome any fears associated with making mistakes 2. Allow discovery with lots of trial and error in the process 3. Give guidance, as needed, for only as long as needed, without taking over Using these 3 simple strategies while we are learning helps us help our horses learn to learn. We are the guides and teachers for our horses. Helping our horse learn new skills and feel empowered with self-carriage not only benefits our horse, but helps us reach our desired goals as well. When we help our partner, we help ourselves.
