Day 21 – Craving, Aversion, or Lost?
Today we are going to continue practicing with the Third Foundation of Mindfulness. Rather than looking at the direct experience, we will focus on the mind's response in each moment by simply asking: Am I in craving, aversion, or unconscious?
Day 20 – Compassion
Today we are working with the second of the Buddhist heart practices, compassion. Compassion is bringing metta (loving-kindness) toward suffering or pain. We can work with our own pain, as well as the pain of others.
Day 19 – Hearing Vedana
We'll practice today with vedana. Instead of working with the body or in open awareness, we will work with the sensation of hearing. We'll notice that we are hearing and what the feeling tone of the experience is.
Day 18 – Mental States
Today we are going to be practicing with the Third Foundation of Mindfulness. We'll practice looking at the mind's response to what is occurring in our experience. We're just observing the mental states, not trying to change or fix anything.
Day 17 – Mindfulness (Noting)
Today we are going to sit in an open mindfulness practice. We will note what is occurring in our experience, keeping the awareness unconditionally open to what is happening.
Alternate Metta
Today we're going to investigate a different way to practice metta. Rather than repeating the traditional metta phrases, we'll do a visualization practice. This is being offered just as another way to understand and practice.
Day 15 – Four Elements Meditation
Today we are doing a traditional practice in the First Foundation of Mindfulness. This practice is simply a different way in which to view the body, and it involves looking at the presence of the four elements in the body.
Breathing with the Body
Today we're doing a different practice that we haven't really offered here. It's a practice in working with the breath in the body, and cultivates both concentration and mindfulness.
Day 13 – Vedana

Day 12 – Forgiveness
Today we are going to practice forgiveness. Although this is not a traditional Buddhist heart practice, it is an important practice in opening the heart.
