For Melissa Wolff, writing became her outlet after a lengthy hospital stay. After publishing her first book at the age of twenty-two, she has written four young adult novels so far. Interestingly, all of her books have been written during National Novel Writing Month. Part of the proceeds from her book sales go to the VACTERL Network, a group designed to help people suffering from this condition and their families.
