Steven Truscott. In the summer of 1959, a 14 year-old boy gives a ride to a 12 year-old female classmate on his bicycle. He would be the last person seen with her before her body was discovered two days later. She had been sexually assaulted and strangled. Why was he with her instead of his friends? Could a young boy be capable of such a heinous murder? Did he really see her get into a car after their bike ride? The trial ended in a guilty verdict and this young Canadian would be sentenced to death. Yet, this case was far from over. In 1960, his sentence would be commuted to life. He would be released from prison in 1969. In 2007, his conviction would be overturned. Join us as we examine whether he was truly guilty or a victim of injustice.
