Interview: Real Estate Entrepreneur Shares Advice for Marketing and Starting Up
It’s always a pleasure to have the opportunity to interview someone in person. Â This is our 25th podcast interview, and now 15 of those 25 were actually done in person. Â Those in-person interviews were done here in Denver with some of our local leaders and at conferences I have attended around the country, such as NGLCC, Victory Fund, and LGBT Tourism & Hospitality.
In this episode, I interview Joshua Hunt, who founded the real estate company Trelora that is shaking up the industry. Â His office is located in lower downtown (LoDo) Denver, not far from the ballpark and the plethora of new developments that have been sprouting up, and that is where we sat down for this interview. Â Listen to our conversation to discover:
- How Trelora is disrupting the real estate industry and the idea behind it
- Where Joshua’s passion to build the business comes from
- How coming out and hitting rock bottom fueled Joshua’s continued business success
- Trelora’s ambitions to expand within the greater Denver area and four major cities outside of Colorado
- How Denver could be the next Silicon Valley
- What ways Trelora is marketing and tips for others who are starting up: “displaying the purpose or the why behind your company – not the what you’re doing”
- How to get seed funding for a new business idea: “one of the many reasons startups fail is because they chase the money and not their passion”
- The best piece of career advice: “Today I choose to seek wisdom. Â Many many have gone before me and conquered things and failed through many many fights… If I would just slow down and give use the two ears I was given and listen, there’s so much to learn from the wise people in front of me.”
** Note: There is some background noise in the audio recording, due to us being in an office with air conditioning. Â Our team is working on a transcription of the interview if you would rather read it, which will be available soon. **
