The other week I had the pleasure of interviewing Ed Johnson, founder of SuitLink, a new professional gay online network based out of the United Kingdom.  This is my first guest on the show from outside of my own country ( the United States) and it is incredible that we could connect so easily via Skype to create this content.  Thank you 21st century!

Learn all about the new website and how you can use it to your advantage, Ed’s story and his secrets for success in the sixth podcast episode.

More about Ed:

“I first played with the idea of an LGBT professional network last summer, August 2012. I knew that competitors existed but from what I’d seen it seemed they’d either been outdated, poorly moderated, area specific and/or had turned into “hook-up” networks. I wanted to build a platform for the LGBT community to connect, interact and share on a professional and friendly level. I spoke to friends about the concept and things went from there. I got to a stage, fairly early on in initial development, where I couldn’t progress with both my current job and the network so I made the decision to leave my job and focus efforts on the company. Myself and my business partner self-funded the project and found a number of freelancers to work on technical development. By May of this year we were ready to begin opening the network to professionals. Still by invitation only (but probably opening publicly soon) we’ve seen fantastic growth and I’m hugely excited about the future of the network. SuitLink offers a friendly, truly global environment for LGBT professionals to connect, share ideas, job seek, recruit, meet friends and more.”
