Feelings and Memories
If we assume that feelings and memories from old traumatic incidences linger on within us and negatively affect our health, is it possible to successfully ever move past them? Get over some horrible event? The answer is Yes, but let’s get more personal for a moment.
Let’s consider how you can heal from health problems caused or greatly influenced by the old feelings and memories. Can you do it? Maybe. Yes. Most people want a cure from what ails them. They consider their life is miserable from chronic illnesses like Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Lyme Lupus, arthritis or autoimmune illness. They are looking for a miracle drug, or a super-smart doctor/ researcher who has the newest answer. However, they’ve never been told and don’t realize that issues from their past could be huge, stumbling blocks to recovery.
“What” helps someone else may not help you unless it can address the problem within you that caused or added to why you got sick in the first place. What caused your immune system to be incapable of fighting a pathogen? How can other people get well or greatly improve, but not you?
Today let’s briefly talk about the role of healing and how it gets circumvented by old, bad memories. What is healing? How do old memories influence recovery? It’s an amazing correlation, for sure!
Believe it or not, our bodies were designed by God to heal themselves. Think immune system, think tissue re-creation, think of how your finger heals after you cut it. Yes, the human body was/is made in such a way as to be able to heal itself, in most circumstances. When it fails, ill-health, lasting damage or ultimately death results. (*Your body’s natural ability to heal seems to shut down at death, another natural part of our life cycle.)
When we get ill and stay chronically sick, the healing process simply may be stalled or delayed. Why this happens is very important. It often is because of the old feelings and memories standing as road blocks in your way. Think of old traumas as broken records that continue to play the same old songs on your personal Hit Parade that no one else hears but you!
