002 : Giving Your Children Proper School Supplies

August 08, 2013

Our August podcast encourages parents as they send their children back to school. Buying school supplies is just par for the course, but the most important “supplies” you can give your children cannot be purchased or put in a backpack. Using real school supplies as our examples, we share four traits to instill in your children as they head back to school.

Show Notes: Supplies Your Kids Need for School

#1: A Ruler Reminds us to Measure Our Words

#2: Glue Reminds us to Stick to the Word of God

  • Psalm 119:105, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
  • Scripture contains “all things that pertain to life and godliness” (2 Peter 1:3)

#3: Scissors Remind us to Cut Out Harmful Influences

#4: Paper and Pencil Remind us to Communicate with God

  • 2 Timothy 2:15 “study,” “rightly handle the Word of truth”
  • Do I pray regularly?
