A New Orleans attorney, L. Morgan Franklin, finds her well ordered life turned upside down when her younger half-brother, Winston, dies in their small hometown of L’Ouverture, Louisiana.  When it becomes evident that Winston’s death may actually be a murder, Morgan begins a search for answers that uncover long-held family secrets and new discoveries about the people she loves the most.  The mysteries of family, life and love all converge in this story of one woman’s refusal to accept things as they appear.

About the Author -  La Rhonda Crosby-Johnson a graduate of San Francisco State University, was born and raised in Oakland, California. The oldest of two children, La Rhonda demonstrated her innate leadership abilities at an early age. La Rhonda's passion for education and community services found its place in the social work department.

Despite fond childhood memories and being surrounded by a loving, encouraging and supportive family La Rhonda's days were not free of pain or tragedy. Losing her mother to breast cancer, left La Rhonda primarily responsible for raising her younger sister. 

La Rhonda has over 25 years of experience working in the fields of education, health and wellness and organizational development. She has worked "in the trenches" as well as in managerial roles in community-based healh organizations and schools. La Rhonda is a much sought after keynote speaker and workshop facilitator. She has an easy and welcoming manner, enabling her to create safe and effective learning environments for diverse audiences. Her seemingly natural ability to "shed light into darkened places" compelled her o formaize this gift.
