In this episode I interview a self-proclaimed Nihilist. As we find out during the discussion his Nihilism is synonymous with Skepticism a la the Russian philosophical tradition. While he also incorporates some of Nietzsche’s Nihilism, Dan’s is of the following perspective:

1. There is no higher power watching over us or giving meaning to our lives.
   
2. Any meaning to life is therefor given by those that are living it; human beings.
   
3. Life does not have any intrinsic meaning.
   
4. The material world is all that can be said to exist.
   
5. One can find great meaning in the happiness one finds during their path through life.
   

While Dan doesn’t explicitly state the flavor of his Nihilism what he does give us is his rich understanding of culture and community. During our long-form discussion we focus mostly on how Dan has built a community without religion and how he contributes to that community and its members.
