ABOUT OUR GUESTS

yummiaMia McCarthy - Yummia

Founder and owner of Yummia – Goodness To Go. We specialise in ready to go bircher muesli products.

Started Yummia in 2011 at 22 years old while still at university after identifying a gap breakfast market. I loved bircher muesli so wondered why not many people were selling it already made.

Started making some product to test on family and friends and got positive feedback, so then took the product to try and sell in café’s and independent grocers/fruit shops around the local area.  I could see people identifying with the product and gained some market traction with repeat customers, so I then moved into a share kitchen.  From here I saw the brand growing faster than I knew my capacities could handle.

In 2013 I partnered with a manufacturing facility based in Victoria. This has allowed the product to be produced at a commercial scale and now we can meet demand and produce a more consistent and higher quality product at a competitive price point.

Whitney2aWhitney Komor - TheBestDay

Whitney Komor is a young Australian entrepreneur and founder of TheBestDay, a Sydney-based start-up.

Whitney had the idea for the social planning tool following a frustrating attempt at organising a weekend away with friends. She grew tired of the messy back-and-forth when trying to agree on a date and location.

TheBestDay makes it easier to get the group together by allowing people to invite their friends to vote on time, date and place.

After graduating from Sydney University and a brief stint in consumer marketing at Coca-Cola, Whitney made the leap into the world of start- ups. In March of this year the Whitney closed a $1M investment round to fund the launch of the social planning tool.
