Garry Browne - Shift 2014 SME Event

Garry Browne is the CEO and Managing Director of Stuart Alexander & Co. Stuart Alexander specialises in marketing and distribution of premium food, beverage and confectionary products across Australia and New Zealand.

Garry’s strengths in brand promotion and growth have found him mentoring organisations in the SME, government and community sectors. He currently chairs the Foundation of National Parks and Wildlife as well as the NSW Procurement Industry Advisory Group. His role in this group is pivotal to breaking down existing barriers and creating a new conversation between SMEs and the NSW Government.

In 2013 he was appointed District Governor for Rotary International, 2013-14, a role that sees him leading 70 clubs and 1,800 members.

In his role at Rotary, Garry has created a new business conference SHIFT2014 which is being held on March 1 2014. Christine Heard - Heard Communications

A journalist/producer/presenter for almost 20 years, Christine Heard has extensive, in depth experience in Australia’s news media, working for both private and public media organisations in radio, television, online and magazines.

Career highlights include reporting on elections in a post-coup Fiji and a newly-democratic Indonesia, covering the bombing of the Australian embassy in Jakarta and witnessing a tsunami-ravaged Phuket. Christine’s current affairs stories have been seen on SBS TV’s Insight program, and she’s made regular appearances as one of SBS’s Federal politics correspondents. On the side, she’s sub-edited a food and travel magazine and written a column and feature articles for a parenting magazine.

Christine also spent four years in SBS’s Marketing department, putting her journalistic skills to good use as Senior Communications Specialist for the organisation’s news and current affairs programs. Upon returning to the newsroom, Christine files TV, radio and online stories for SBS…even tweeting from the field.

In 2011 Christine began working with the Media Skills Network. She was so impressed with the methodology and results that she asked to become accredited as a Media Skills trainer. After completing her Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Christine began the Media Skills training and next year, will begin operating as Heard Communication.

Phil Bernie - KeyPay

Phil is a co-founder at KeyPay, a cloud based startup focused on delivering innovative, easy to use payroll solutions.

Prior to founding KeyPay, Phil worked for over 10 years as a software developer in various industries ranging from finance, media and is passionate about building high quality software that solves real problems.

Andrew Tucker - IT on Cloud

CEO and Founder of Artec Holdings

Andrew Tucker has more than 20 years of experience as a business owner and passionate entrepreneur who likes nothing better than to build Information Technology businesses and make them profitable.  He has started, run and sold a number of successful businesses. These business range from 80 to 2000 staff with turnovers of $10mil to $400mil. Andrew gained his qualifications at the University of Witwatersrand, Wits Business School and the school of hard knocks. Most recently Andrew has got involved with Broardreach Services, a leader in the Video conferencing space and ITonCloud, a Cloud and Hosted Desktop provider where he’s now focuses most of his attention.

Despite his demanding career as an owner / shareholder of multiple businesses, Andrew makes time to be involved with a number of professional organisations. He was also a member of the Entrepreneur Organisation where he has served as both the President and Mentor Chair on the board. He has also done voluntary work for the Acceler8 foundation raising money for RedKite. When not working, Andrew likes to Cycle, coach Reps football teams and spend time with his family.
