James Posnett - ASX Limited

James Posnett is Manager, Listings & Business Development at the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) in Sydney.  He is responsible for the development of ASX’s listings business both domestically and internationally.  Prior to joining ASX, James worked in economic development in South Australia.  Prior to this he held the position of Managing Director at NYSE Euronext in London, responsible for listings business development in the UK, Israel and Africa.  James holds a Bachelor of Science from Loughborough University and an MBA from the University of Adelaide.

Jim Taggart - Taggart Consulting

Jim’s career began as a teacher & Deputy Principal of a Catholic High School. Since entering the financial services industry in 1987 he has successfully developed his businesses to service nearly 5000 clients. These businesses were operating under their own Australian Financial Services Licenses from 2004 until July 2012 when the businesses became part of the Austbrokers Holdings Ltd companies.

Jim has completed a Masters Degree in Commerce majoring in Financial Planning Diploma of Teaching Bachelor of Arts & Master of Arts from Macquarie University holds the FChFP & is a Certified Financial Plannerâ„¢. Jim has attained a Doctorate in Business Administration. Jim holds a QPIB qualification for General Insurance. In November 2005 Jim was awarded the 2005 Zurich/AFA Adviser of the Year. In September 2012 Jim attained Adjunct Professorship with Notre Dame University, Australia.

Jim has lived in Kellyville for over 30 years. He has been actively involved in community activities such as the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal, Local Chambers of Commerce, was Chairman for the Sydney 2000 Olympics Fundraising Committee for Western Sydney, is a past Chairman of the Board for TAFE – Western Sydney District, past Board member of Cumberland Industries Limited, & is a current Board member of the LNA (Landscape NSW & ACT Limited a current Board member of North West Disability Services a current Board member of the Western Sydney Academy of Sport and chairs the fundraising committee for the Academy. In January 2006 Jim was awarded with the Hills Shire 2006 Australia Day Award for Community Service. Jim received a Medal of the Order of Australia in the 2010 Australia Day honours & was invested with his medal by the Governor of NSW on 6 May 2010. Jim is a past President of the Association of Financial Advisers for Australia and past NSW Director for the Association. In July 2011 Jim was nominated to the Board of APLIC (Asia Pacific Life Insurance Council) as the Australian Representative.

Michael d’Apice - Austbrokers ABS

With 28 years experience in the Financial Services Industry, Michael has been with the Austbrokers Group for over 20 years. Michael holds a Diploma of Financial Service (Broking) and is a Qualified Practicing Insurance Broker, specialising in business succession planning, personal wealth protection, group risk insurance and corporate superannuation.

In 2006 Austbrokers Holdings Limited acquired three large advisory firms; AEI Life Insurance & Superannuation Advisers, Adept and Wilburtins McDonald and appointed Michael as the General Manager to oversee the merger. Since then Michael has successfully managed the acquisitions of several other portfolios and companies into Austbrokers Financial Solutions, most recently Taggart Nominees. Michael is the Managing Director of both Austbrokers Financial Solutions (SYD) and Austbrokers Financial Solutions (ACT) T/a Capital Wealth.

Michael is a long time member of the AFA, NIBA and is on the Millennium3 Financial Services Advisory Board
