Melissa Lammers - Shire Legal
Melissa is a lawyer with 19 years’ experience working in a multitude of different legal areas – starting as a graduate with the ACCC, working in general practice in the suburbs, and spending a few hectic years working as a commercial litigation and trade practices lawyer in multinational firms in the CBD. Once the family came along, Melissa decided that working 12 hour days in the city was not in the family’s best interests, so opened up her own practice, which has gone from strength to strength in the 10 years since she got her first matter from a friend who was buying a block of land down the Coast.
Melissa is passionate about assisting and advising business owners in relation to purchasing existing businesses, starting brand new businesses, purchasing franchises, selling businesses, entering into leases (commercial and retail) (whether as landlord or tenant), setting up supply agreements and terms of trade, compliance issues, and debt recovery.
She also enjoys assisting clients with buying and selling property, transferring property between family members, refinancing mortgages, easement issues, as well as estate planning (wills, powers of attorney, guardianships).
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her 3 daughters and her rock-climbing husband, as well as performing with Miranda Musical Society and playing netball. Her favourite time of the week is laying back on the sandbar in the Port Hackingon a Sunday afternoon, watching the sun set.
