20131017 - Eagle Startups with Ben & Rick from Flipsters, Rohan Clarke from Geddup and Emma Petroulas from Nudge Accounting
Flipsters is an innovative footwear brand designed in Sydney and sold around the world.Flipsters are foldable shoes women can take anywhere they go – travel, the gym, and when high heel pain sets in.
Flipsters was co-founded in 2009 by Rick Munitz and Ben Lipschitz, two 25 year old friends fresh out of university. Rick studied a Bachelor of Industrial Design and Ben a Bachelor of Laws. After witnessing their female friends walking around town barefoot due to high heel pain, the two entrepreneurs came together to create an innovative solution. We knew we wanted to do something that was interesting, scalable, and entirely innovative from the word go.
Our product is sold in 16 countries globally. We have over 300 retailers in Australia including the Co Op Bookshop, Bras n Things, and The Iconic. We have sold over 400,000 pairs of folding shoes (which we also designed). We have (and have always had) just 2 employees/founders.

Geddup is a communications platform that simplifies the way we engage with organisations – making them more accessible, more responsive and more integrated with our technologies. It’s secure and spam free – you choose who communicates with you. And it gives you more control over your personal information – you choose what is shared and with whom.
Adrian and Rohan Clarke are brothers who started Geddup to solve two seemingly different problems. Adrian owns a hair salon in Melbourne and was looking for better ways to manage his client database and appointment book. Rohan has two children and was looking for better ways to manage communication from their schools and sporting clubs.
Geddup was born when they realised that the solution was to be found by empowering the individual. By doing so, organisations could have more effective and efficient communication with them.
Geddup is in beta and is due to launch in 2014.
