Jenny Douneen -Â Kids First Aid
The only first aid course in Australia taught exclusively by practising paramedics.
Founded in 2007 by two sisters – Jen Douneen and Katie Fisher, with Katie’s husband Ben. They have a combined 35 years experience with the NSW Ambulance Services.
Their Goal: To impart basic first aid knowledge to all mums, dads, grandparents, babysitters and carers of children aged 0 to 16 – to teach them what to do in an emergency situation, particularly in those critical first minutes before help arrives.
Their Belief: That all parents and carers of children MUST know first aid because no child should be at risk! And that practising paramedics are the best people to impart this knowledge. As first responders paramedics are uniquely qualified in emergency care with real-life experiences dealing with panicked parents in highly stressful situations.
Their Mission: To empower one million Australian parents to deal calmly and confidently with their children in an emergency situation. And then to empower the next million, until all parents across the country know what to do in a crisis!
Their Method: Entertaining, engaging and memorable 3 hour classes on what to do when faced with the most common 10 childhood emergencies. Real-life information on what to expect and how to act to save your child, quickly and correctly.

Flavia Abbate - Bodybolster
They say people will have three careers in their lifetime. Flavia’s first career was in media and the second was in management consulting, in communications.
Flavia firmly believes that everything we do in life prepares us for where we are now – so while media introduced her to consumer mindsets and psychographics, management consulting exposed her to business, strategy and critical thinking – all of which would form the framework and reference points for setting up future businesses – her third career.
In 1998 she embarked on the biggest life-changing experience, when she established the first family business (www.cityclinic.com.au) along with her sister and brother in-law.
As with most start-ups, City Clinic was born from a casual conversation based on a personal experience noting a lack of an integrated approach to injury management/rehabilitation. The Sydney based City Clinic centre was the first of its kind in Australia to offer a client-centric model, pioneering a multidisciplinary approach to injury management-all under one roof.
The early walk as an entrepreneur came with the typical ups and downs that are characteristic of a business that is growing organically, which Flavia states “will test your stamina, motives and the relationship with your bank managerâ€.
In 2003 Bolster Trading Pty Ltd (www.bodybolster.com) was established, born from a notion to empower people by providing self help tools and resources. This added a product range to the staple health services, complimenting the original client-centric philosophy to meet the client where they are.
The flag-ship product is the Bodybolster which was created with input from Australian physiotherapists to promote movement and support the back ‘actively’. The product is listed on the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA).
The Bodybolster is now sold in 13 countries and the business is steadily growing.
