Peter Hackney - City News
The editor of Sydney’s independent inner city weekly newspaper City News, Peter is an expert on inner city politics and an experienced reporter of local community, government and business issues.
A Queenslander by birth, Peter was drawn to Sydney by the Olympic flame in the year 2000 and has been in love with the city ever since.
“Nowhere else offers the same unique combination of vibrant economy, natural beauty, pumping street life and quirky, independent culture,†he says. Although that doesn’t stop him going for Queensland in the State of Origin!
He is particularly passionate about the multicultural, multi-ethnic nature of Sydney and the way it’s become a true crossroads of the world.
When not reporting on Harbour City happenings, Peter might be found bushwalking in the Blue Mountains, snorkeling at Clovelly, browsing one of Newtown or Glebe’s bookshops, or maybe having a Scotch and Soda in one of Sydney’s cosy small bars.
His favourite book is Sydney by Jan Morris.

Harry  Hughes - fresh Ideas
Harry spent early years in advertising…played in rock band in late 60s. Discovered he could write songs…in 1980s heI met the Australian Country music performers the Blanch family who had spent 12 years in Nashville and returned to Australia. They said they were goingt to produce an album here and askaed had he ever written any songs. He said he hadn’t but would give it a go. Harry ended up writing almost the whole album…and it won the 1982 Album of the year at the Australian Country Music Awards.
Having discovered his new ability… he kept writing…and it seemed strange that we lived in this beautiful city of Sydney…yet there were virtually NO songs about it. So HarryI set about writing a complete CD of Sydney songs…
He then wrote a Sydney CHRISTMAS song… designed a beautiful Christmas card to go with it…added all the other Sydney songs…and created a lovely idea for Sydney people…Sydney businesses to send to friends and family…or their clients here tor overseas…you can listen and order it’s website.
Harry also wrote a beautiful CD of garden songs “Songs of the Garden“…and that’s become very popular with anyone who loves gardening.  Harry also has an art business creating hand painted portraits for Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries and weddings. We paint oil on canvas…for people, children, and pets!
Fresh Ideas are all about creating ideas – ideas that work for business.
