Offering a hand up rather than a hand-out, we use a sustainable approach to solve poverty – empowering families through community development programs and loans as small as $100 (microfinance) to help them grow their own small business. Inspired by Jesus Christ’s call to serve the poor, we seek to help people regardless of their gender, ethnicity or religious affiliation.

Nick Cater - The Lucky Culture

Nick Cater is the author of the best-selling book, The Lucky Culture (and the rise of an Australian ruling class). He has worked as journalist for more than 30 years. He began his career in Britain as a studio manager at the BBC before joining News Limited in 1989. He worked in Adelaide, Canberra and as a foreign correspondent in Asia before joining The Daily Telegraph in Sydney in 1997. He has been a senior editorial executive at The Australian since 2004.

Nick Cater graduated in Sociology at the University of Exeter in 1980.
