Jackie Maxted – beautyheaven
Jackie began her professional life as a graduate at the BBC in London before moving into the publicity department of a directory-based business. Having caught the publicity bug she emigrated to Australia, to join the leading consumer agency PPR as the Director of their Health and Lifestyle division.
Following four successful years, Jackie left PPR to co-found leading Australian beauty and lifestyle PR firm Maxted Thomas.
Working with some of the globe’s leading beauty and lifestyle brands, Maxted Thomas quickly cemented it’s place as an industry leading PR brand and continues to enjoy huge success nearly two decades later.
In 1999 Jackie left Maxted Thomas for an innovative media venture that was to focus entirely on the newly-emerging Internet. Media and industry PR resource beautydirectory was officially launched in 2000 and quickly grew to service beauty and lifestyle journalists and beauty brand management, Australia wide. Today it continues to be the media and beauty industry bible with up-to-the-minute news coverage, expert interviews and a comprehensive directory of beauty brands and products.
Building on this success, Jackie went on to launch the first custom-built consumer beauty reviews and news site for Australia, beautyheaven in 2008.
In 2013 beautyheaven enjoys a unique place in the Australia-media landscape as the country’s largest female-focused social network. Under Jackie’s leadership the innovative publishing platform has led the market in many innovations including community engagement and management, content marketing and innovative product sampling.
