Chris Brycki - Stockspot

Chris Brycki has been fascinated by the share market and investing since he was 10 years old.

In 1999 he became the youngest winner of the ASX Schools Share Game ahead of 35,000 high school students. Proving it wasn’t beginners luck, he then went on to win again in 2000 and 2001 before topping the JPMorgan Universities Portfolio Competition in 2004 and 2005.

Chris was recruited by a hedge fund while completing his Bachelor of Commerce at UNSW and later worked as a Portfolio Manager at UBS.

Frustrated by the high fees, confusing jargon and lack of transparency that give Australia’s wealth management industry a bad reputation, Chris recently left the big investment banks to start Stockspot.

The new venture aims to help ordinary Australians invest without the high cost and complexity of typical investment options, like managed funds. When it launches, Stockspot will be Australia’s first low-cost online managed investment account.
