Today we'll be featuring a wonderful Australian business family: The Ismiel Family! No doubt you've heard of them before, but perhaps through their business name: Nad's.

Sue Ismeil - Founder & Creator.

In the early 90’s Sue Ismiel was a married mother of three young daughters working as a Medical Records Officer in a Sydney hospital in Australia.

Her primary goal was to provide a loving, caring environment for her young family. When Sue’s daughter Natalie was a young girl she had dark hair on her arms that caused her embarrassment. All the depilatory products on the market hurt Natalie’s sensitive skin, so
Sue became determined to create a product for her, based on natural ingredients. She spent almost a year experimenting with and concocting different formulas from products she had on her kitchen shelves and using her husband’s legs to road test her recipes.

Finally she had a product that worked – a pleasantly scented green goo containing lemon juice, sugar and water among other ingredients. The amazing gel did not need heating or chemicals to work. While it was only designed with her daughter in mind, after trying it on other family members and her colleagues at the hospital, Sue was convinced to share it with the general public.

Naming the product Nad’s Natural Hair Removal Gel after her eldest daughter Nadine, Sue started with her immediate neighbourhood and before she knew it, her green-goo wonder formula became the most popular natural hair removal product in Sydney and then in
Australia.

Nadine Ismiel – Executive Director (R&D & Clinics)

Nadine Ismiel heads Research and Development for Sue Ismiel and Daughters. Nadine has been involved with the family business since her mother created the internationally successful Nad’s Natural Hair Removal Gel.

Nadine has a Biomedical Science degree, a Master’s degree in Herbal Medicine and a Graduate Certificate in Good Manufacturing Practice.

As head of R&D, Nadine is responsible for overseeing the research, development and formulation of health, beauty and personal care products and concepts, continually adding to the Company’s product portfolio.

In particular Nadine’s work focuses on identifying the most effective way to remove unwanted hair, and she has been instrumental in the development of at-home hair removal products including creams, waxes, wax strips and the introduction of state-of-the-art laser hair removal through Nad’s Laser Clinics.

Natalie Ismiel- Brand Manager

Natalie Ismiel is the Brand Manager for Nad’s. Natalie has been involved with the family business after her mother created the internationally successful Nad’s Natural Hair Removal Gel for her sensitive skin.

Natalie has completed her Business and Marketing qualifications and has undertaken further post graduate Marketing studies at Sydney University.

Natalie works in the Nad’s Marketing and Promotions department and is often the face of the Nad’s product packaging, advertising and promotional materials. She also presents and conducts demonstrations and trainings on the Nad’s product range along with her mother Sue Ismiel.

 

 

Naomi Ismiel- Graphic Designer

Naomi Ismiel is the Art director at Sue Ismiel & Daughters. Naomi has in depth Design and Art direction experience with a focus in advertising and design, specifically in the FMCG department.

Having completed a Bachelor of Design (Communication Design) at Billy Blue School of Graphic Arts, Naomi spent 18 months at the Global branding giant, Landor after winning the “Shine Awardâ€Â internship.

Having moved across to Sue Ismiel & Daughters to join her mother and sisters in August 2007, Naomi compliments them with a unique skill set in design that can be seen in our traditional/digital media advertising and packaging developments.
