Three big concepts this week.
1) The daily office lectionary is a 2 year cycle. Which cycle goes with which year?
2) In the church, weeks begin on Sundays.
3) After Pentecost, the weeks are numbered (numbered propers), and the numbers correspond to the Sunday closest to given dates.
It'll start to make a bit more sense when we look at the lectionary itself next week.
