He is also an active and sought-after composer whose arrangements have played around the country, including his Requiem of Psalms which premiered in Carnegie Hall. Lauren Baker, renowned for her compelling command of the violin and the haunting renditions she shares with captive audiences, has maintained a private Suzuki violin studio in Lafayette for 30 years. She has also served as Chairman of the Orchestra Committee for the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra, as well as concertmaster where she has been a featured soloist many times.
