The Disabilitymatch Podcast
Episode #4 Living With Spinal Injury, Devotee Dating and Healing Meditation
Welcome to our latest episode of the disabilitymatch podcast. We are already up to episode #4 which is a big achievement for us and now we are getting well established. The great thing is that there are so many awesome guests who want to be on the podcast and talk to you about what they are doing for the disabled community here in the UK. Actually we do have quite a number of overseas listeners who enjoy our show and, of course, we have guests from all over the world on our podcast.
In this episode we have Dan Burden who is the Public Affairs spokesman for the Spinal Injuries Association (http://www.spinal.co.uk/)
(SIA) who is himself in a wheelchair from a spinal injury he suffered in his 20's. The SIA is 'peer led' and its senior roles are held by disabled members of the community. We will hear about many of the services the SIA offer to people with all forms of spinal injuries. Dan also offers encouragement for singles with spinal injuries trying online dating. @spinalinjuries
Gillian is here again from disabledholidays.com (http://www.disabledholidays.com) to tell us about the wonders of the Lake District which is right there on our doorstep and has some amazing facilities for accessible walks and holiday fun. @disableddirect
Robin Wilson-Beattie (http://www.sexabledwithrobinwb.com/) unveils the mysteries of 'Devotee' love and introduces us to the fetish side of amputee dating. Much of what she mentions was new to me and she clarifies everything in her very special way. @sexabled
Finally, we have a new expert - Artie Wu - who runs the Preside meditation website (http://presidelife.com/)in California and he explains to our listeners how meditation can help you deal with body image and personal anxieties. You can try out a selection of his techniques for free from his site. @presidelife
