This year's shortlisted albums include: hip-hop/R&B star Drake's If You're Reading This It's Too Late, Alvvays's self-titled pop debut, and veteran Buffy Saint-Marie's Power in the Blood.
On Sept. 3, Polaris founder Steve Jordan will moderate a panel with three local judges at Yellowhead Brewery, 10229 105 St., starting at 7 p.m. Admission is free.
Those judges are Julia LeConte (Edmonton Journal), Renato Pagnani (The Fader, Pitchfork), and Sandra Sperounes (Edmonton Journal.)
