Episode 4: Diabetes Self-Management
In this episode we welcome back Gene Arnold to our podcast.
Gene serves as the quality coordinator for the Johns Hopkins Diabetes Center’s diabetes self-management training (DSMT) program. Gene is a registered dietitian/nutritionist and certified diabetes educator. His interest in nutrition began as a student athlete at Trinity College, where he earned his undergraduate degree in psychology. He completed his Master at Montclair State University in nutrition education with a minor in food science and his dietetic internship at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center in 2016, and he joined the inpatient nutrition team at Johns Hopkins Hospital later that year. He has been with the Johns Hopkins Diabetes Center since January of 2019.
In our last episode, Gene spoke with one of his patients about Diabetes Self-Management Programs. Gene is here today to tell us more about these programs.
